The syllabus in colleges is compartmentalized into
Arts, Commerce, Science etc. with the result that students
do not get an opportunity to study subjects in areas
which do not belong to the stream. The Arts student
cannot go beyond the options offered. This results in
a stunted academic growth. To meet the shortcomings
of the curriculum, the college decided to introduce
an inter-disciplinary research based program –
Honors Program. The students are encouraged to take
on projects from other disciplines.
- A total of four projects are required to be completed
for the Gold Medal and Honors certificate.
- The four projects must be from different departments.
- Each project entitles a student to two credits.
Eight credits can be obtained over a period of three
years of graduation. Moreover, the students can continue
even after graduation if they have not completed their
eight credits.
The college takes pride in offering a platform to students
for developing their research instincts and interests.
