The following activities were carried out during
the year 2004-05:
- 'Transit of Venus' workshop on May 7, 2004 at Nehru Planetarium.
- An inter – collegiate astronomy quiz was held on
august 19, 2004. 13 colleges participated in this quiz.
This was as activity to celebrate Late Principal K. M. Kundnani
Century.
- The transit of Venus was tracked on the internet Live
on June 8, 2004.
- Lecture on “Cassini’s visit to Saturn”
on August 19, 2004 by Prof. Mohan Apte.
- Films on the “Hubble Space Telescope” and
“The Life and times of Albert Einstein”, “Collision
of comet shoemaker levy on Jupiter” on August 5, 2004
in the conference room.
- Screening of Film “Black Holes” at Nehru Centre
on August 29, 2004 at 2:30 P.M.
- Lecture on “The universe” by Dr. Bharat Adur,
Scientist, Nehru Planetarium on October 22, 2004 at 6:00
P.M. We were joined by Thadomal Shahani Engineering College
students.
- Sky observations at night with the telescope (Courtesy
Dr. Bharat Adur) on October 22, 2004 at 8:30 P.M.
- Visit to Nehru Science Centre for an exhibition on “Albert
Einstein – A man of the Century” on September
26, 2004.
- 3 day seminar on “Celebrations 100 yrs of Einstein”
held by the Indian Planetary Society at Borivali on 7, 8,
9 January 2005.
